The Poetics of Tourist Experience: An Autoethnography of a Family Trip to Eilat1

This paper is an autoethnographic exploration of a tourist’s experience. Through interpreting qualitative material, in the form of a poem I wrote in 1994 about a short familial excursion to an Israeli seaside resort city (Eilat), the research seeks to sensitively describe the intricacies of travel experience. The research explores the advantages of the autoethnographic method of inquiry, and discusses tourism-related emotions and memories in the context of performance and representation. The paper joins recent efforts in attempting to challenge and loosen the grip of positivist epistemologies and discourses on mainstream tourism studies, by illustrating the emotional complexities and contradictions in the travel experience of tourists. In line with traditions of critical research in sociology, the exploration sheds light on the materiality of texts and on the role language plays in tourism, viewing the poem read in this paper (‘Quiet Eilat’) simultaneously as a representation, performance and material object of discourse.     

失地农民利益表达存在的问题及其成因分析

近些年来,失地农民利益表达问题受到社会各界的普遍关注,他们在利益诉求过程中常常是因为利益表达的缺位而劳无所获。本文从失地农民利益表达缺乏健全的立法机制,失地农民利益表达缺乏畅通的利益诉求渠道,失地农民自身在利益诉求过程中缺乏科学合理性,归纳出了失地农民利益表达存在的问题和原因。     

Search for relevant sets of variables in a high-dimensional setup keeping the familywise error rate

Two multiple procedures for the detection of relevant sets of variables in a high-dimensional problem are suggested. Multivariate tests for significance are combined with the search for interpretable multivariate structures. Thus, groups of highly correlated variables are investigated. The emphasis lies on managing the huge number of possible subsets, for example, in gene expression analysis. The first procedure is based on parametric spherical tests and an order relation of the subsets. The second procedure is a non-parametric method utilizing Westfall–Young principles.

由于审计工作是高度数字化的工作,它要求审计人员尽可能以简洁的数字涵盖大量审计信息,以使同仁和公众一目了然的了解审计业务全过程。但在常规审计工作中,笔者时常注意到某些审计表述上的瑕疵甚至是重大缺陷,影响了审计工作质量,有鉴于此,笔者将审计实务中多发的数字表达瑕疵情形及原因作如下抛砖引玉式的评议,以期更好推动审计工作规范化。

中国农村社会保障缺失的非经济因素分析

构建社会主义和谐社会，必须促进农村经济社会全面进步，其中农村社会保障制度的完善是其中不可缺失的一部分。而目前，农村社会保障的水平低、覆盖面窄、保障功能不强等问题，已严重制约农民生活质量的提高和农村社会的全面进步。     

Overhead aversion and facial expressions in crowdfunding

Overhead aversion—donors’ negative attitudes toward their donated money being used for overhead costs—has been explored in many contexts. In this study, we first confirm findings from prior research that high overhead costs imposed on project initiators have a negative effect on supporters' funding decisions and that higher overhead costs make project funding less successful in crowdfunding. Thereafter, we investigate how the negative effect of overhead costs on funding performance is moderated by the project initiator's facial expressions in the image on the project webpage. A smiling face mitigates overhead aversion, whereas a sad face amplifies it. We collected a large sample of data from Kiva, a loan-based crowdfunding platform, and used a deep learning algorithm to categorize the facial expressions of project initiators. Subsequently, a propensity score weighting approach was applied to minimize confounding effects. This empirical study indicates that the project initiator's smiling face, rather than a sad face, can alleviate supporters' overhead aversion.     

和谐视阈下公众利益诉求理性表达机制的建构——以民间组织介入为视角

社会公众与基层政府间的有效沟通及对政治主体的认同,是和谐视阈下公众利益诉求理性表达的应有语境。在和谐社会构建进程中只有通过基层政府与公众之间的良性互动才能有效实现公众利益诉求的理性表达。在由单纯的政府管理转向多元共治的社会治理发展态势下,民间组织的有效介入可以有效形成利益整合机制、信息传递机制及职能分担机制,通过政府与公众的良性互动,最终实现公众利益诉求的理性表达与和谐社会构建的双重目标。     

基于社会分层视野下的利益表达问题探析

由于对社会资源占有的不均衡以及利益表达机制的不完善,强势阶层、中间阶层、弱势阶层在利益表达上存在较大差异,强势阶层的利益表达意识和表达机会明显强于其他阶层特别是弱势阶层。这种不合理的利益表达格局会产生一系列消极影响。需要针对不同阶层,完善其利益表达功能,规范利益表达秩序,建立各阶层利益诉求表达的平衡机制。
